Database Manager

London (Hybrid)

Permanent

£47k - £55k

Your New Role

As a Database Manager, you will play a key role in supporting alumni engagement and fundraising activity through the effective management of high-quality data, systems and insight. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organisation's core fundraising and alumni database, ensuring data is accurate, well governed and easy for colleagues to use. You will provide end-to-end database support across the organisation, including system configuration, data quality, reporting and user support, helping teams make effective use of data and fundraising tools. You will also act as a subject-matter expert, supporting colleagues with training and guidance and helping to identify and implement future system improvements.

Ensuring Your Success

To be successful in this role, you will have experience working with relational databases, ideally within a CRM, fundraising or similar environment. Experience with systems such as Raiser’s Edge would be highly beneficial, alongside experience of analysing database requirements, supporting system upgrades and implementing improvements. You will have strong analytical skills and be confident producing clear and accurate reports and carrying out ad hoc data analysis. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will be responsible for delivering training and guidance to a range of users. You will also have advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with knowledge of query tools such as SQL being desirable. Strong attention to detail is important, particularly when working with confidential and sensitive information, and you will be comfortable working autonomously, managing competing priorities and resolving complex data issues. A collaborative, customer-focused approach and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues will also be key.

In Return

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation in a varied and influential database role, where you will have the opportunity to make a real impact through effective data management and system development. You will benefit from generous annual leave of 27 days, plus additional days between Christmas and New Year, as well as a pension scheme with an enhanced employer contribution of 14.5%. You will also have access to an onsite gym and swimming pool, a wide range of professional development opportunities to support your career progression, an enhanced cycle-to-work scheme and a comprehensive wellbeing offering supporting your physical, mental and financial health.
