Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in MariaDB to manage, maintain, and optimize our database systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and availability of our databases, as well as supporting development and operational teams with data-related solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and optimize MariaDB database servers in production and development environments.
- Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
- Configure and manage high availability (HA) and replication setups (e.g., Galera Cluster).
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexes.
- Implement database security best practices and compliance standards.
- Conduct regular performance tuning and resource optimization.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide prompt support to developers and DevOps teams.
- Automate routine database tasks using scripts and tools.
- Work with infrastructure teams on capacity planning and scaling.
- Document database configurations, processes, and best practices.
Required Qualifications

3+ years of hands-on experience with MariaDB administration in a production environment.
- Strong SQL skills and experience in database optimization and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of backup strategies, replication, clustering, and failover.
- Proficiency with Linux-based systems
- Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Percona Monitoring, or similar.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience with other RDBMS (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Knowledge of containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL).
- Understanding of data modeling and normalization principles.
- Certifications in MariaDB or other RDBMS platforms.
