Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented PCB Front End CAM Engineer to join our engineering team. This role involves preparing and optimizing customer PCB design data for manufacturing using CAM tools. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and experience using industry-standard CAM software such as Genesis 2000 or similar.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and review customer-supplied Gerber, ODB++, and drill files for completeness and manufacturability.
  • Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis and resolve potential issues with design data.
  • Optimize and panelize PCB layouts for efficient manufacturing and assembly.
  • Generate tool paths for drilling, routing, solder mask, legend, and other processes.
  • Apply netlist checks, impedance control requirements, and layer stack-up validations.
  • Create final manufacturing data packages and job travelers for production.
  • Communicate with internal teams (engineering, production, QA) and customers for technical clarifications.
  • Maintain quality and consistency of front-end processes to meet tight delivery timelines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in PCB CAM engineering, preferably within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with CAM tools such as Genesis 2000 or similar.
  • Solid understanding of PCB fabrication processes, IPC standards, and DFM principles.
  • Experience with Gerber, ODB++, and other industry-standard file formats.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, stack-ups, and customer specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools is a plus.


Education and Certifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a PCB manufacturing or CAM engineering role.


Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of impedance control and HDI stack-up design.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality systems.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
