Payroll Manager – Recruitment & Umbrella Company

Location: Flexible / Hybrid / Remote

Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time


We are seeking a Payroll Manager to support both our recruitment business and umbrella company operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll within the recruitment/staffing sector, with hands-on experience processing PAYE, CIS, and Umbrella payrolls.


Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-end payroll processing for PAYE, CIS, and Umbrella workers on a weekly basis

• Ensuring accurate and timely payments, RTI submissions, and HMRC compliance

• Managing payroll queries and liaising with contractors, clients, and internal teams

• Overseeing pension auto-enrolment and statutory deductions

• Keeping up to date with changes in payroll legislation and recruitment industry compliance

• Supporting credit control, invoicing, and general finance admin (optional, depending on experience)


What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in a payroll role within a recruitment or umbrella company

• Solid understanding of PAYE, CIS, and Umbrella payroll schemes

• Familiarity with payroll software Xero

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
