Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Finance Analyst to join our Executive Education team. This role is integral to supporting the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions for a growing portfolio of non-degree, professional education programs. The Finance Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights that support data-driven decision-making and ensure the financial sustainability of executive education offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Develop and maintain operating budgets and forecasts for executive education programs.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide variance analysis (budget vs. actuals).
- Prepare regular financial reports for senior leadership, highlighting key insights and risks.
Business Partnering:
- Work closely with program managers, marketing, and operations teams to evaluate program profitability and recommend pricing strategies.
- Provide financial modeling support for new programs, partnerships, and business cases.
- Serve as a finance liaison during program development and execution.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Maintain compliance with institutional financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in internal and external audits related to executive education activities.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows and improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Leverage data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) to enhance decision-support capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA a plus.
- 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in higher education, executive education, or professional services.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools (Excel, financial ERP systems, data visualization software).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to translate financial data for non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a university, business school, or continuing education environment.
- Familiarity with systems such as Workday, Oracle, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of program-based accounting or cost center reporting.
