Your New Role
Your new role will see you joining a busy Estates and Facilities team as a Facilities Building Fabric Manager, taking responsibility for the management, maintenance and long-term performance of the venue's building fabric. You will play a key role in ensuring the site's buildings are maintained to a high standard, leading the in-house Fabric team while supporting the delivery of a safe, compliant and well-maintained environment for both day-to-day operations and major events. Working closely with the Head of Facilities, you will develop and implement the building fabric maintenance strategy, ensuring all assets are maintained in line with statutory and legal requirements. You will oversee the site's planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme, develop asset condition reports and lifecycle replacement plans, and provide technical support for conferences and other live events. You will also manage the day-to-day activities of the in-house Fabric team, support contractor management, oversee temporary and permanent site signage, manage procurement and stock control of consumables, and ensure all permit-to-work, risk assessment and method statement procedures are completed and maintained to a high standard. Alongside this, you will actively engage with stakeholders across the business, promote continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of Facilities Management services through benchmarking and best practice.
Ensuring Your Success
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within a building fabric or property maintenance environment, together with a recognised Building Fabric qualification to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. You will have operational knowledge of managing building fabric maintenance teams and possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and support colleagues to consistently deliver high standards.
You will have experience of procurement processes, contractor management and planned maintenance programmes, alongside a sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and facilities management software, are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail. You will be highly organised, analytical and an effective problem solver with excellent communication skills, capable of building positive relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and the wider Facilities team.
