Senior Software Engineer

I am delighted to be working with a Tech4Good Start-Up that is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to come on board and take ownership of the existing platform, plus manage the new development of their greenfield SaaS application. This is a hybrid role to work on-site 3 days a week in London and offers up to £70,000 plus share options. 

My client has built a platform that allows their customers the opportunity to save, recycle and make money all while providing a better environment for the planet. This role as the Senior Software Engineer will allow you to take full ownership of the existing platform, all while managing the greenfield development of the company's new SaaS application and customer integration. You will work in a small team of 7 people and directly with the company's founders. Excellent communication is a must and previous Start-Up experience is preferred. In this role, you will have the chance for career progression and to become a manager, whilst leading, hiring and developing junior engineers. 

As the Senior Software Engineer, you should have experience with: 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years of industry experience with commercial software applications
  • Excellent communication skills (ideally with Senior Management in a Start-Up environment)
  • Python, Fast API, Django or Flask
  • React
  • JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Relational Databases, Postgres, MySQL 
  • Ownership of DevOps & Infrastructure, ideally in AWS
  • Experience of Technical Ownership of the Full SDLC

Nice to Have (not essential) 

  • Experience with AI coding & having built AI/LLM/RAG agents 
  • Headless CMS experience
  • Data Analysis/Engineering experience
  • Industry experience with Payments, eCommerce or similar
