Your New Role

Your new role will see you working as a Mechanical Engineer based full-time on site at a prestigious events venue, supporting the delivery of all mechanical building services and infrastructure across the site. Working under the guidance of the M&E Team Leader, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, efficiency and long-term performance of the venue's mechanical assets. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance using the CAFM system, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and accurately recorded.

As part of your day-to-day responsibilities, you will monitor and analyse building performance through the Building Management System (BMS), carry out fault finding, maintenance and repairs on AHUs and FCUs, including replacing belts, filters and associated components, and support routine mechanical alarm testing to ensure compliance. You will also assist with contractor management, support small plumbing and mechanical installation projects, and help provide temporary water and drainage solutions for live events. This role will involve providing technical support during busy operational periods, including events, ensuring all mechanical services operate reliably to meet the demands of the venue. Participation in a 1-in-5 on-call rota for out-of-hours support will also form part of the role.

Ensuring Your Success

To be successful in this position, you will hold recognised mechanical or plumbing qualifications, such as City & Guilds, together with relevant competencies within a mechanical discipline. Previous experience as a Building Services Engineer within a large or complex organisation is essential, along with strong fault-finding skills and a good understanding of mechanical building services. You will be confident reading and interpreting MEP drawings and have experience working with Building Management Systems, with knowledge of Schneider EcoStruxure being advantageous.

You will have a solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation, including COSHH requirements, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office, are important, as is the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment. Experience with catering equipment maintenance and repairs would be beneficial but is not essential, and training can be provided for specialist tasks such as C.A.T scanning.
