Job Title: Family Legal Secretary

Location: Farnham

Salary: £26k - £30k

Job Type: Permanent


The Role

This is a full-time, office-based position within a busy family law department, working 37.5 hours per week. The role involves providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to a team of family law solicitors in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities include managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings to ensure the efficient running of the department. The role also requires audio and copy typing of legal documents, correspondence, reports, and court forms with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

You will liaise with clients in a professional, empathetic, and compassionate manner, particularly when dealing with sensitive family matters. Additional duties include preparing court documents and forms, supporting the team with general administrative tasks, and maintaining strict confidentiality when handling sensitive legal information.


To Ensure Success

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within family law. They will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within a busy environment.

Essential skills include:

  • Proficiency in audio and copy typing with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong diary management and scheduling experience
  • Exceptional client care skills with a compassionate and professional approach
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Confidence using modern IT systems; experience with case management systems such as Tikit (PW4/Partner for Windows) would be advantageous
